Dirty Pages is headed South! Join us in New Orleans on November 5.
When my partners, Jennifer Justus, Cindy Wall, and I set out to create the Dirty Pages exhibit here in Nashville in March 2015, we had no idea it would receive so much attention. (Thank you, Kim Severson!)
It was so well-received, in fact, that after setting up shop at spots around Nashville, like the Nashville Farmers' Market and Conexión Américas, it's now headed to its permanent home inside The Southern Food & Beverage Museum. We'll be journeying down, with a small entourage in tow, to celebrate the opening of the exhibit on November 5.
Join us for a sneak preview of the exhibit with a dinner by Chef Ryan Hughes of Purloo. The event takes place Thursday, November 5th at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $65 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity. Specialty cocktails by Carmine Portenza, full bar, and wine will be available at the historic Brunnings bar. Chef Ryan Hughes' menu includes:
- Southern board, pimento cheese, smoked lamb, green tomato chutney, deviled eggs Meunière, fried pickles, and boiled peanuts
- Lowcountry style she-crab bisque, finished with Madeira
- Smothered oxtails with black eyed peas, green onion rice, and sweet potato souflee
- Buttermilk custard chess pie topped with blackberries, salted caramel sauce, and a red wine reduction
For reservations, please call Purloo directly at 504-324-6020.
See you there!
